My Counseling Approach: I counsel with the belief that each and every human holds the power to grow, cope and progress forward through any season of life. Therapy should provide a safe space that is free of judgement and works to be individually collaborative with each client. The therapeutic relationship should value helping the client feel seen, heard, and valued. Furthermore, I work to help each individual create a greater awareness of their feelings, thoughts and behavioral patterns to help empower the client and push them towards positive progress. My counseling approach is centered around being individualized to each person, their personal needs and goals. This approach incorporates concepts from Cognitive-Behavioral, Strengths Based, Client-centered, Interpersonal and Mindfulness-Based stress reduction techniques.
Education: Master of Social Work, Yeshiva University
Experience: I started my experience participating in conducting non-directive group therapy for children and adolescents with SED, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety and other trauma-related disorders in a family services setting. I also have experience conducting psychological assessments and case management work with adults and families that have experienced trauma, health issues and legal issues. I have further experience with co-instructing a Strengthening Families course centered around teaching behavioral skills to parents and children to families to help improve family life and lessen struggles. I eventually transitioned into an intensive outpatient setting where I provided individual and group counseling to adults and adolescents with a wide range of mental health and substance abuse related disorders.
